We run weekly patient day groups where you can socialize and carry out themed activities.  These include musical entertainment, quizzes, crafts and Pets as Therapy dogs who regularly join the group and bring the kind of love and support only our four legged friends can.

You can also take part in creative therapy activities which many of our patients have reported helps them to express and explore emotional or physical issues in a safe way.  In fact studies have shown some people find it easier to express difficult emotions and painful times through being creative rather than talking things through.  It can help with depression, low esteem, express buried emotion, take patients minds off pain or discomfort and give them a sense of achievement.

Taking part in these sessions also gives our Clinical Nurse Specialists the opportunity to carry out patient reviews.  Chaplaincy services are also available to those patients who would like them, and they can also link with leaders from other faiths as needed.

Many of our patients report that they enjoy coming to day centre as they spend time with new people and their families have a break from providing their care too.
