Corporate volunteering, sometimes called employee volunteering, is a powerful way for businesses and employees to invest in your local hospice. Corporate volunteering can come in many forms and is a dynamic model of volunteering that can meet your needs. Take a look at some of the ideas on how your business could get involved with George Thomas Hospice Care.

Day to make a difference

A day to make a difference has loads of possibilities to put both your time and skills to good use in your local hospice. You could use specialist skills like finance or marketing skills to share your expertise. Perhaps you would prefer to spend the day in one of our charity shops, racing against your colleagues to see who can make the most money in a day?

In 2016, Zurich's Cardiff office worked alongside our volunteer gardeners at the RHS Flower Show and achieved a bronze recognition for their garden ‘Hospice Garden For Living’.

If you or your organisation is looking to give a day to make a difference, please get in touch with our Volunteer Officer, Alex, by emailing volunteer@gthc.org.uk or calling 02920 532150.

Skills Share

Do you have skills such as marketing, IT or graphic design? Could you mentor one of our employees? We offer skill share opportunities, as a one off or regular opportunities. You might not even realise you have a skill as it's something you do every day, but it could be of great value to us.

Timebank's survey, involving over 3,000 UK employers and employees, showed that 94% of employers think that employee volunteering has added to the skills of their workforce.

If you want to put your skills or expertise to good use and support your local hospice, please contact Alex, our Volunteer Officer, by emailing volunteer@gthc.org.uk or calling 02920 524150.
