This year's Bay5K sponsored by Western Power Distribution was a huge success.  The run, which we were proud to have started by Welsh world boxing champion Lee Selby at the Roald Dahl plass is expected to raise in excess of a hugely impressive £5,000, which goes towards providing front line nursing care to patients with cancer and other life limit illnesses in Cardiff.

CEO and run participator Mike Walsh said "Its a great pleasure to see so many of our wonderful supporters here to help us raise essential funds for nursing care in Cardiff."

As well as the main event there was further entertainment provided by the Cardiff based Sparkles Hoop troupe, who's hoop skills thrilled and mesmerised all involved and passers by.  If that wasn't enough, George Thomas' own events fundraiser Chelsea Fraser contributed free face painting, which was taken up by runners and supporters alike, including head of income generation Rachel Minchinton.  Rachel was full of praise for the event and beamed 'this is one of a series of George Thomas Hospice events promoting healthcare and well being'.

A big thanks, as always, must go to our loyal volunteers, who once again turned out in high numbers to ensure the event went as smoothly as it did.  We couldn't do this without you and cherish your continued support.
