The new shop is situated on Merthyr Road opposite the Post Office. The shop was officially opened by Jonathan Morgan AM on Tuesday 6th July 2010. The individuals that attended the opening enjoyed the atmosphere and took advantage of the many bargains and donated goods the shop will be selling.

All George Thomas Hospice Care shops are managed and run entirely by volunteers who make a great contribution to the work of the charity and all money raised at the new shop will go directly to the care and support of patients and their families.

Margaret Pritchard, Chief Executive of George Thomas Hospice Care says
“We are delighted with the prominent position of our new shop in Whitchurch which has a special significance with our hospice centre Tŷ George Thomas being in the grounds of Whitchurch Hospital. I want to thank all the volunteers who have helped and especially one of our volunteers shop leader Keith Fender who has put enormous effort personally into getting our new shop ready for opening”.

Margaret added “The demand for our highly regarded consultant led clinical service is continually growing and we are presently taking on over twelve new patients and their families each week. Our charity shops play a very important role in our fundraising effort and we are delighted to be opening our latest one in Whitchurch”
