Llandaff Charity Raft Race

Entry Fee: £100 per team
Race your home-made rafts along the beautiful River Taff in aid of charity. The Royal Exchange Pub has won this race for the last 2 years – Can YOU challenge them? Fun for all the family at the Rowing Club with BBQ, bouncy castle, face-painting. Sponsor forms available.

At the heart of our specialist care service is our multi-disciplinary team of consultants, palliative care nurses, social workers, occupational therapists and counsellors whose joint efforts combine to provide the focused, supportive and effective help we provide in our community.
The Debenhams GTHC Fashion Show
THANK YOU to everyone that attended our DEBENHAMS Show Me How To Look Fashion Show. The event took place at the Hilton Hotel on Monday 30th April.
This event raised around £1,500 for our Patient Services!!!

The First Great Western GTHC 5K Charity Run
THANK YOU to everyone that took part in our 5K Run which took place on Sunday March 11th in Bute Park, Cardiff.

Jubilee Garden Party
To celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee we are holding a special JUBILEE GARDEN PARTY. The party is being held at a private residence in Whicthurch and takes place on Saturday 2nd June and begins at 11am.

Cardiff & Vale College Pool Event
THANK YOU to students at Cardiff & Vale College who held a charity pool tournament in support of GTHC on the 29th March.
The tournament was held at Riley’s Pool and Snooker Club, Cardiff.

Zumba for Schools
THANK YOU to St Philip Evans RC Primary School who have taken up the sponsored challenge to help raise money during Lent for GTHC.
Now it’s not only adults who can Zumba – children can now enjoy it too, by taking part in our challenge with their school, doing a half hour Zumbatomic dance workout, in return for fundraising for George Thomas Hospice Care.
SWALEC in the Community
THANK YOU to the team of SWALEC employees that spent a day of their valuable time getting our award-winning garden into tip-top shape for the spring.
Our Patients regularly use the garden and it can provide a place of calm and reflection at a very difficult point in their lives.

Who do we help
We support over 500 patients and their families each year with our multi disciplinary team of specialist nurses, occupational therapists and social workers with all help provided totally free of charge.
Gardeners’ Question Time
Join a panel of gardening experts and discuss all your gardening joys and woes. A light-hearted evening for all those green-fingered fanatics amongst you! Includes a hanging-basket demo and an informal tour of our award-winning garden. Ticket price includes free tea, coffee and biscuits.
Please note this a locally run event to benefit a local charity and it is not the event that is run by the BBC.

Giving a few hours of your time each week can make a huge difference to the lives of people suffering from cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.

You will not be expected to stay at a venue for the whole amount of time that is stated below for each event. We appreciate any amount of time that you can spare in order to help us whether it be 15 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours or more......

Britain V Cancer
Actress Charlie Brooks – winner of the Strictly Come Dancing Celebrity Christmas Special has just signed up to trek the Jordan Desert in aid of Britain V Cancer.
This is the first time an overseas trek has been organised where anyone in the UK can raise funds for the cancer charity that they wish to support.
